Student Achievements


At the Gilmour School children are given the opportunity to perform on several occasions throughout the year. The Gilmour School competes in two competitions a year, and if pupil's have been dancing for more than two years and attend a least two disciplines then pupil's may take part in Festival Groups, Solos or Duets. (This is by invitation only and is completely optional).

The Gilmour School achieves extremely high standards for competition work with numerous places being awarded in both Festivals.


All students that attend classes at the Gilmour School may take exams if they wish. Syllabus work is followed throughout the classes and exam session are held twice a year.

The Gilmour school achieves excellent exam results, and boosts a 100% pass rate.


October: Rebecca Bodiam was awarded 2nd Place at the IDTA's Classical Performance Awards.

October: 50 Dances were placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd at the Aspects Dancce Festival.

February: Scarlett Tommons and Ellie Doughty were nominated for their Tap, Ballet and Modern Exams. Olivia Rogers, Georgina Moore and Ellie Doughty all achieved 90 or more for their Intermediate Modern and Ballet exams.
Chloe McCaffray achieved distinction for her Intermediate Modern exam. March: Chiara Lopez was awarded the Arts Scholarship at her school based on her dance performances.

March/April: Guildford Festival: Several Places for Solo's Duets and Groups. Senior Modern Group was awarded 2nd place with 91 marks.

June: Grace Tucker successfully auditioned for Fleet Panto 2015.

July: Ellie Doughty was nominated for the IDTA awards as a result for her Advanced 1 Ballet exam.
Also in July Rebecca Bodiam was accepted on the Swindon Contemporary Dance course.

Two students of Gilmour School have also successfully auditioned and been accepted into the following dance colleges: London Studion Centre, Royal Academy of Dance and Millenium Dance College.

2015 Exam Sessions:

February: 50 Grades Taken; 50 Distinctions were awarded. Including 12 students achieving 90 marks or more for their Ballet, Tap and Modern exams.

June 2015: 90 Grades Taken; 74 Distinctions and 16 Merits were awarded. Including 4 students achieving 90 marks or more for their Ballet and Tap exams.
